The weather is warming up and the flowers and trees are blooming… and the grass is growing… which means it’s time to pull the lawn mower out and cut the grass.
So, that’s what I did — I gave my son a bath, I grabbed a quick dinner bite, said goodnight to the kiddos, changed into appropriate clothes and proceeded to head into the garage to pull out my “yard shoes” and my old school electric lawn mower.
I have 2 pairs of old, raggedy shoes that I use interchangeably to do yard work and stuff. These raggedy shoes are always in a shoe-rack that is in our garage just outside of the mud/laundry room.

Now, I should preface the next part of the story as pretty disgusting… but I know curiosity is probably gonna get the best of you’ll want to know what happened next. And when you do, you may get grossed out like my wife did, or do the heebie-jeebie wiggle like I did…

I grabbed the closest pair of yard shoes and proceeded to put my left foot in the left shoe only to find that there was something in my shoe. It felt as if a sock were stuffed in it. So, I pulled up the shoe, lifted the tongue and tilted the shoe to catch the light so I can see what was in my shoe.

Several months back in October 2009, we suspected a mouse hanging out in our garage. We bought traps and waited……… but we never saw the mouse again, and none of the traps were sprung.
Apparently the little bugger had crawled into my shoe and croaked. I have no idea how long it’s been in my shoe.
EEEEEEWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!
